Estimated Federal and WA battery support for 2026.
Eligible households may be able to combine the Australian Government Cheaper Home Batteries Program with the WA Residential Battery Scheme. The table below uses the Federal rules applying to batteries installed from 1 May to 31 December 2026.
Federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program
The Federal discount is delivered through Small-scale Technology Certificates. For eligible installations completed from 1 May to 31 December 2026, the base factor is 6.8 STCs per eligible usable kWh, with tiered support:
- 0–14 kWh: 100% of the STC factor.
- Above 14–28 kWh: 60% of the STC factor.
- Above 28–50 kWh: 15% of the STC factor.
- Only the first 50 kWh of usable capacity receives STCs.
WA Residential Battery Scheme
The WA rebate is calculated on usable battery capacity up to 10 kWh:
- Synergy: $130 per usable kWh, up to $1,300.
- Horizon Power: $380 per usable kWh, up to $3,800.
- Eligible systems must meet current product, installer and VPP requirements.
- A no-interest loan may also be available to eligible applicants.
Estimated combined battery incentives
Federal estimates below use 6.8 STCs per eligible kWh, the official tier multipliers and a $40 STC Clearing House value. Actual point-of-sale discounts can differ because STCs are rounded down to whole certificates and an agent may apply administration fees or use a different market value.

Can I add a battery to my existing solar system?
In many cases, yes. We first assess your current inverter, system size, switchboard, available installation location and the battery solution being considered.
Will a battery keep my whole home running during a blackout?
Not automatically. Backup performance depends on the selected battery, inverter, gateway, switchboard configuration and which circuits are nominated for backup.
Can I receive both the WA rebate and Federal battery support?
Eligible customers may be able to access both programs where all current rules are satisfied. We confirm the applicable scheme conditions during the quotation process.
What battery size do I need?
The correct size depends on your daily consumption, solar generation, evening load, tariff, backup goals and future plans such as EV charging.
Can my battery join a Synergy VPP?
Participation depends on the customer, retailer program and whether the complete installed solution appears on the relevant supported solutions list and meets current technical requirements.
Do you offer battery finance?
Infinity is a Plenti finance partner. Finance remains subject to application, approval, lending criteria, fees and the terms offered by the financier.
